Salamanca quarterback Maddox Isaac honored with NFL Way to Play Award

On Dec. 5, Salamanca football quarterback Maddox Isaac was honored by the NFL for his “outstanding performance during this football season, exemplifying what it means to play hard, play fast, and play safe,” according to a press release from Salamanca City Central School District.

In specific, Isaac was recognized for his memorable touchdown against Portville/Cuba-Rushford in the Section 6 Class C Final at Highmark Stadium on Nov. 14 in which he hurdled a defender on his way to the endzone. He and his play garnered recognition on a national level through the NFL Way to Play Award, powered by Gatorade in partnership with Hudl.

According to the release, Isaac’s efforts secured a $3,000 equipment grant for the school, courtesy of the NFL Foundation and USA Football.

“This award not only rewards proper playing technique but also highlights leadership and commitment at every level of the game,” the release stated.
